Helianthus annuus
A widely cultivated, fast-growing annual with large, daisy-like, bright-yellow flower heads and rough, hairy stems.
Great as background planting in garden beds, rockeries and borders. May also be grown on its own in large pots. Great as a cut flower.
Grow in a sunny position in well drained soil. Benefits from the application of liquid fertiliser.
