Allium sativum

Planting Depth: 5 cm deep

Position: Full Sun/Part Shade

Best Use: Garnish, salads, casseroles, dips, bread

Harvest: in Summer

Application: Ideally grown in vegetable plots or large tubs. A very versatile vegetable, excellent for flavouring many types of dishes. Can be used raw or cooked.

Row Space: Plant 60 cm apart

Planting Time: Plant from Autumn (warmer climates) Winter (cooler climates)

Soil Position: Rich organic, well drained soil. Prefers a friable soil, if soil is too heavy bulbs will be poorly shaped.

Description: Round, pink/light purple skin, white flesh

Cultivation: Separate cloves and plant individually approximately 8-10 cm apart, pointy end up to produce an abundant crop. Cease watering a few week prior to harvest to ensure plants become dry and firm before lifting. Once foliage has died back, lift and store in a cool, dry environment. Suited to cooler climates
