Ficus carica Black Genoa
Large sized fruit, skin is purple over green with red flesh, and excellent flavour. Used for fresh fruit, drying and jam, very nutritious fruit. A large spreading tree, that produces two crops of fruit per year.
Maturity: Early summer and late autumn.
Self pollinating
Tree care: Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil most until tree is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
