Glaucescens is one of the giant barrel cacti, growing to 60cm tall and 60cm wide over 200+ years. Very slow growing so can be kept in small pots for many years. Yellow 5cm flowers appear from the centre of older plants in spring. Mostly solitary habit but some do form clusters.
