Feijoa sellowiana (syn. Acca sellowiana)
Hardy evergreen shrub producing a mass of decorative flowers with conspicuous stamens. Flowers are followed by fruit with a flavour that resembles a mixture of strawberry and pineapple.
Grow as a screening plant or hedge. Fruit can be eaten fresh or used in jams and jellies
Prefers moist well drained soil in a sunny to partly shaded position. Tolerant of windy and coastal sites. Prune after flowering and fruiting to maintain a compact plant.
