Actinidia Chinensis 'Haywood' Male
Also known as Chinese Gooseberries. The male plant is used only as a pollinator and does not produce fruit. It is a vigorous growing plant and a strong trellis is requied to support this. It will also require hard pruning to keep growth under control.
Maturity: Late May to early June.
Suggested pollinators: Ratio 1 male plant to pollinate up to 7 female plants.
Tree care: Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until the tree is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
