Ooray / Queensland Davidson's Plum
Very attractive pendulous sprays of reddish flowers with yellow stamens precede the fruits. Fruits are large, purple and plum-like and hang in clusters.
The red fleshed plums are pleasantly sour and very high in antioxidants and vitamens. ooray are delicious and lend themselves to both sweet and savoury jams and meat sauces. The fruit can also be frozen or dried, used to favour cordial and the juice makes a tasty salad dressing. They can also be made into wine.
Ooray is often multi trunked. New growth is attractive and tinged pink. It likes protection from full sun and wind when young, adequate soil moisture, and good soil nutrition.
